Two Step Sparring

Two step sparring enables the student to confirm all they have learnt in three step sparring, against more varied attacks and develop combinations.

Attackers start with right leg back in L-stance, forearm guarding block.

Defenders start in parallel ready stance.

Basic Level

Attack

  1. Right leg forward, walking stance, high obverse punch.
  2. Left leg front snap kick.

Defence

  1. Right leg back walking stance, left outer forearm rising block.
  2. Left leg back walking stance, X fist pressing block.

Attack

  1. Right leg forward fixed stance, right side punch.
  2. Left leg middle turning kick.

Defence

  1. Right leg back L-stance, upward palm block.
  2. Left leg back L-stance, right outer forearm waist block.

  1. Right leg front snap kick.
  2. Step forward, left walking stance, high twin fist vertical punch.

Defence

  1. Right leg back walking stance, X fist pressing block.
  2. Left leg back walking stance, high outer forearm wedging block.

  1. Right leg forward walking stance, right flat fingertip thrust.
  2. Left leg middle side kick.

  1. Right leg back walking stance, knifehand rising block.
  2. Left leg back L-stance, inward palm block.

  1. Right leg reverse side kick.
  2. Step forward into left walking stance, high obverse palm strike.

Defence

  1. Right leg back L-stance, palm waist block.
  2. Left leg back L-stance, high inward outer forearm block.

  1. Right high turning kick.
  2. Step forward into left walking stance, left arc-hand strike to throat.

Defence

  1. Move left leg back diagonally forming a sitting stance, twin straight forearm block.
  2. Right leg back L-stance, left palm hooking block (grabbing arm).

  1. Right leg forward fixed stance, side fist side strike, right hand.
  2. Left leg middle reverse turning kick.

Defence

  1. Left leg back L-stance, twin forearm block.
  2. Right leg back L-stance, middle knifehand guarding block (sliding away using block as guard only).

  1. Right leg middle side kick.
  2. Spinning high knifehand side strike in right L-stance (turning anti-clockwise).

Defence

  1. Right leg back L-stance, inward inner forearm waist block.
  2. Step left foot to right foot, move right foot back into L-stance, knifehand guarding block.
